Hyperplace is an explorative transdisciplinary research project unveiling the hidden workings behind established anthropogenic ecosystems and notions of locality. It represents a speculative design journey starting from analysing local wetland ecologies and microbiological processes, all the way up to abstract theories such as the Theory of Non-locality and Hyperobject-theory (Timothy Morton) and finally taking a poetic turn into fictional worldbuilding and the metaphysical processes behind memory creation. It is an iterative multi-media installation, posing the questions of how abstract anthropogenic hyper-categories and -systems collide and merge into more complex and meaningful ways to transform a Space into a Place.
